In Rio de Janeiro, Dredger and Breed discover the body of a missing agent, who turns to dust before their eyes. The killers are still in the building, carrying a potent toxin. Following a gun battle, Dredger injects one of the killers with a hypo of the toxin. The man disintegrates, which persuades his partner to talk. They are working for a man called Strasser, who developed the toxin. Strasser is traced to a restaurant, where Dredger and Breed disguise themselves as waiters. Dredger takes Strasser outside with a magnum to his head, but Breed is attacked by Strasser's goons in the carnival procession. Dredger injects Strasser with a hypo, then helps Breed escape. As they leave, Breed observes that Strasser's body hasn't crumbled to dust. Dredger reveals that the hypo contained water, and that Strasser must have been so scared that he died of heart failure. | | Green's Grudge War
